Council collects food organics and garden organics (FOGO) waste every week.
We provide all residential properties with a 240-litre FOGO bin (green lid). If your bin gets damaged or it's starting to fall apart due to general wear and tear, we'll replace it free of charge.
We ask all residents to please bring in your FOGO bin as soon as possible after collection. If you won't be home to bring in your bin, consider asking a neighbour to help.
We also undertake bin inspections and waste and resource audits throughout the year to collect data that is used to develop community education campaigns. Complete confidentiality is maintained during these audits.

Council's new Borough Bins app gives you personalised reminders on what bin to use and when to take your bins out for collection. It's available for free on both iOS and Android phones. Click here to download the app today.
Get a handy reminder as to when your bins are next being collected by visiting our waste collection dates page and typing in your home address. The date displayed is the morning of your next collection, and you can click on each collection type to find out more about what can and can't be disposed of in your bin.
Large tree limbs and stumps should be taken to the Drysdale Resource Recovery Centre. Placing these larger items in your rubbish bin might make it too heavy for the truck to empty. In this instance, you could have to remove some of the green waste before the truck can empty your bin.
