Join us on Sunday, September 29th, for the "Borough by the Bay - Marine and Coastal Celebration," a vibrant day-long festival at Queenscliff Harbour. Hosted by Sea All Dolphin Swims in partnership with the Borough of Queenscliffe, this event invites families, marine enthusiasts, and the community to celebrate the rich marine and coastal assets of the region. From 9:00AM to 5 PM, immerse yourself in a variety of free and paid activities designed to connect you with the natural beauty and biodiversity of Queenscliffe.
Experience the thrill of underwater exploration without getting wet with our Virtual Reality headsets, which will transport you beneath the waves for an immersive marine adventure. Kids will love the jumping castle and treasure hunt, with prizes to be won. Get hands-on at our Plastic Recycling Workshop, using SOEL’s purpose-built machinery to manufacture school stationery from 100% ocean-bound plastics. Along the way, you’ll learn about the recycling process, the impact of plastics on marine environments, and be inspired to adopt circular initiatives.
In addition to these activities, the festival features discounted paid tours, including a Mermaid & Wildlife Sightseeing tour at Pope’s Eye Marine Reserve and a 90-minute Wildlife Sightseeing tour aboard the Maureen M, where you’ll encounter Australian Fur seals, Burrunan dolphins, and local birdlife.
Dive into citizen science with the Sea Slug Census, contributing valuable data to help monitor these elusive creatures, or join the Great Victorian Fish Count, supporting marine conservation efforts by documenting the rich biodiversity of our waters.
This family-friendly festival promotes responsible tourism and community pride while kicking off the dolphin swim season. Whether you're here for the educational seminars, hands-on workshops, or just to soak in the scenery, "Borough by the Bay" is an event you won’t want to miss. Let’s come together to celebrate and protect our marine treasures!
