Developing our Climate Emergency Response Plan Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale are already being affected by the impacts of climate change. We face an increasing risk from coastal inundation, sea level rise and bushfires. As a community, we need to act now. That's why Council has created and adopted a Climate Emergency Response Plan.
New amenities at the Queenscliff Recreation Reserve We've built a new amenities block for campers at the Queenscliff Recreation Reserve.
Dogs on beaches We conducted a review of the Borough's ‘dogs on beaches’ laws to see if we need to make changes.
Traffic calming on Kirk Road Following a trial period for the temporary roundabout at the corner of Kirk Road and Winterley Road, we conducted a review of the intersection. Council then resolved to revert back to a standard T-intersection, with additional measures to be undertaken to improve safety and reduce traffic speeds.
Construction of the Queenscliffe Hub The Queenscliffe Hub is an exciting new integrated research and learning centre that revitalises the Hesse Street streetscape while promoting and enhancing its existing services.
A better solution for household food waste The way you sort your waste has changed. Food waste now goes in your kerbside green-lidded bin, and bin collection schedules have also changed.
Pedestrian safety improvements We've installed a number of pedestrian safety improvements throughout the Borough to make our community safer and more accessible.
Hesse Street South redevelopment The redevelopment included a range of upgrades to Hesse Street south of King Street, such as moving power lines underground, improving street lighting and drainage, creating 16 extra parking spaces, and planting new trees.
Point Lonsdale Tennis Club improvement program This jointly funded program included court resurfacing, clubroom refurbishments, disabled access, additional lighting and an electronic booking system to enhance the facilities for all users.
Community Vision & Council Plan At the start of every new term, Council produces strategic documents that outline the focus of our work for the entire term. In line with new Victorian Government legislation, we've created two separate documents that plan for the future – the Community Vision and the Council Plan.
Aged care review We conducted an aged care review to decide on the role Council would play in supporting older people stay active and well in the community.
