Get ready to reduce litter, create clean streams of recycling all the while earning change – the Victorian Container Deposit Scheme (CDS Vic) is coming to Queenscliffe.
The CDS Vic is a government mandated initiative where you can take your drink containers to a deposit location and receive 10c back for every item returned. Starting in November 2023, Victoria’s CDS is an important part of the work that is transforming Victoria’s waste and recycling system.
CDS Vic will increase the recycling of drink cans, bottles and cartons and reduce Victoria’s litter by up to half by offering a financial reward for returning drink containers for recycling. Every bottle, can and carton you return helps divert valuable containers from landfill.
To help this rollout, TOMRA Cleanaway are holding an information session on Wednesday the 15th of November at 6pm. Come along to Town Hall to hear all about how this initiative will benefit our community.
